Ten readings of the draft, each labelled
The draft text is not public. These readings work from its public scope and the held ISO 22301:2019 clause set it aligns with. Each page says whether the line is stated in the public record, our reading, or not stated, so a reader can tell what is checkable.
The one sentence that matters most in the public record. The draft is intended to guide users of ISO 22301 to incorporate the process approach described in ISO 22301:2019 clause 8.1. That is work the organization already owes, and it is where preparation starts.
| Reading | Record | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| P1 | What the public record states | Stated in the public record. |
| P2 | What the public record does not state | Not stated in the text. The absence is the finding. |
| P3 | The process reference model and ISO/IEC 33004 | The public scope states that the document provides a process reference model and will meet ISO/IEC 33004. ISO/IEC 33004 is not held, so its content is named and not stated. |
| P4 | The process approach in ISO 22301 clause 8.1 | The public scope names clause 8.1. The clause substance is stated from the held ISO 22301:2019 text. |
| P5 | Purpose and outcomes as the unit of description | Our reading, from the public scope and the held clause set. |
| P6 | Core, management and support processes | Our reading. The public record does not name a classification. |
| P7 | Alignment with the ISO/IEC 22300 family | Stated in the public scope. The family standards are named, not stated. |
| P8 | The operational view beside the requirements view | Stated in the public scope. |
| P9 | How the draft relates to ISO 22313 | Our reading. The public record names neither ISO 22313 nor a relationship to it. |
| P10 | Preparing before publication | Our reading, from the public scope and the held clause set. |
What the model is for
A process reference model describes the BCMS as a set of processes with a purpose, an outcome and an interface. It changes the audit question from whether a template was completed to whether the process produced the outcome the next process needed. The register supplies the requirement; the model supplies the form.
