What the public record states
A draft International Standard at stage 40.60, owned by ISO/TC 292. Its public scope says it gives a process reference model for a BCMS aligned with ISO 22301. It is guidance, not a requirements standard.
Basis: Stated in the public record. The draft text is not public. This page reads the public scope and the held ISO 22301:2019 clause set, and does not quote either as draft text.
01What applies
The record names the document, its title and its committee. It records stage 40.60, close of voting, reached on 20 June 2026. It records ICS 03.100.01 and 03.100.70. The public scope says the document provides a process reference model for a BCMS aligned with ISO 22301, that the model will meet the criteria in ISO/IEC 33004, and that it guides users of ISO 22301 on establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving the BCMS. It names three alignments: the process approach in ISO 22301:2019 clause 8.1, the other standards in the ISO/IEC 22300 family, and the operational view that complements the requirements and risk-management view.
02Why it matters
A buyer needs a clean statement of what is actually known, because most commentary on an unpublished draft mixes fact with inference. This page is the fact layer: designation, title, committee, stage, stage date, ICS and the public scope. Everything else on this site is labelled as a reading or as not stated.
03What good looks like
Keep this page next to the certificate file. When a customer or an auditor asks what ISO 22333 is, quote the stage and the scope and say plainly that the text is not public. Do not use a secondary summary as a substitute.
04Evidence an auditor asks for
Ask a colleague what stage the draft is at. If the answer is a publication year with no stage, the record is not being read.
| Evidence | The record |
|---|---|
| Record | A dated copy of the stage record and the public scope |
| Position note | A one-page note stating what the draft is and what it is not |
05Where it commonly fails
- Treating a reseller summary as the standard
- Quoting a draft clause number that is not in the public record
- Calling the draft a requirements standard
06What to do before the estimate
Save the stage record and the public scope with the date read. Write the one-page position note.
