What is ISO 22333?
ISO/DIS 22333 is a draft International Standard from ISO/TC 292 on guidelines for business continuity management system processes. Its public scope says it provides a process reference model for a BCMS aligned with ISO 22301. It is guidance, not a certifiable requirements standard, and the draft text is not public.
What the public record states
The designation, the title, the committee ISO/TC 292, the ICS codes and stage 40.60 on 20 June 2026. The public scope describes a process reference model aligned with ISO 22301 and meeting ISO/IEC 33004 criteria.
What it is not
It is not a replacement for ISO 22301 and it is not a requirements standard. A certificate is issued against ISO 22301. The draft adds an operational process view beside the requirements and risk-management view.
Why a BCMS owner should care
The public scope names ISO 22301:2019 clause 8.1, the process approach, as the starting point. That is work the organization already owes, so preparing for the draft improves the BCMS against the standard it is certified to.
