Answer

How do I prepare for ISO 22333?

Do the work that is useful whatever the ballot does: name an owner and a deputy for each operational process, write a criterion and keep a record for each, refresh the impact analysis so the recovery targets are justified, derive the plans from the chosen solutions, and run an exercise with a stated aim.

Start with clause 8.1

The public scope names the process approach in ISO 22301:2019 clause 8.1. Audit the existing evidence against five elements: criteria, records, planned change, unintended change and control of externally provided processes.

Fix the impact analysis

If recovery targets are copied from a template, the strategy and the plans rest on nothing. Refresh impact over time, the maximum tolerable period, the resumption time frames and the minimum acceptable capacity.

Then the model

Write one page per core process: purpose, outcomes, owner, inputs, outputs, interfaces, measures and records. Compare it with the draft when the text is published, rather than rebuilding now.
