Does ISO 22333 replace ISO 22301?
No. The public scope says ISO/DIS 22333 aligns with and complements ISO 22301, and the public record names no document it replaces. ISO 22301:2019 remains the requirements standard a certificate is issued against.
The two documents in one sentence
ISO 22301 states what a BCMS must do. The draft describes the processes by which a BCMS does it, as a process reference model.
What changes for a certificate
Nothing on the public record. A certificate is issued against ISO 22301. A process gap under the draft is an improvement, not a nonconformity, unless it also breaches an ISO 22301 requirement.
What to tell an auditor
Say that the organization is using the draft's process view as guidance and that conformity is still assessed against ISO 22301:2019. Keep the two columns separate in the audit report.
